India is headed to Delhi on 11th October 2022 to take on South Africa at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla Ground for the third ODI. It will be a winner-takes-it contest as India takes on South Africa in the 3rd and the final ODI of the three-match series.

India made an impressive comeback in the second ODI, leveling the three-game ODI series 1-1.

After a difficult start to the series, India bounced back with a good batting performance at Ranchi to level the series against South Africa. Players like Mohammed Siraj and Shreyas Iyer have been sensational and are keen to end the series with a win.

However, South Africa will go into this game as favorites due to their experience and star power. Much will rest on the shoulders of Quinton de Kock and Kagiso Rabada when it comes to direct qualification for the 2023 ICC World Cup. With both teams aiming for a win, an exciting game awaits in Delhi.

Indians have now gained confidence, and their batsmen look in good form. These players are used to playing in these conditions, adding to the side’s advantage. It will be an uphill challenge for the South Africans as the wicket in Delhi offers a sharp turn. It would be a high-stakes battle, and one is likely to see the two sides perform their best.

The weather in Delhi has not been good in the last couple of days. It has been raining quite regularly with the city has witnessed the highest rainfall since 2007.

For India, this series is another reminder of the depth in quality that the home side possesses in white-ball cricket. For the players, a win on Tuesday could serve as a starting point to make their case for next year’s 50-overs World Cup at home.

South Africa is at stake for the 2023 ODI World Cup place and they must win this match to qualify directly for the tournament. The Indian players will want to win this series to put their name in the hat for the upcoming games as well as the next ODI World Championship.

India won the second ODI by seven wickets at Ranchi after chasing a target of 279 runs in 45.5 overs. Shreyas Iyer won the Player of the Match award for scoring the second century of his ODI career. South Africa recorded such a challenging total after half centuries from Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram.

The lower middle order has also done a good job of helping the team release that total. India got off to a poor start as both openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill were sacked before the power play was complete. Ishan Kishan and Iyer added 161 runs for the third wicket and Kishan missed out on a well-deserved century as he was dismissed for 93 runs. Sanju Samson put the finishing touches to the innings as he hit 30 runs from 36 deliveries and Iyer went undefeated in 113 runs from 111 deliveries.
